"If the Ku Klux Klan had invited me, I would have gone."

There you have it. The "counter-jihad" movement in a nutshell.

What some people will do for their 15 minutes.

Yeah, they always wrap it in something more noble—human rights, artistic expression, freedom of speech, concern about extremism—but once you peel back the layers, all you find at the core is a rancid nugget of old fashioned hate.

The other aspect is the "counter-jihad" movement pushes the lie that Islam is about to take over their country or Europe or the USA or the world rather than say be against repressive religious practices, etc.

So in realty they are more racist than anything else and using Islam as their Bogey-man.

I agree, and to think that the two of us, used to be part of the "counter jihad." I'm glad we both came to our senses.

They're not necessarily racist, but they are bigoted. Even if they don't see things in racial terms at all, its completely unreasonable to judge people based simply on the fact that they're Muslims and treat them as the enemy based on that. Its also almost just as bad to have an unfair double standard when it comes to Muslims where they're guilty until proven innocent.

Vilks, probably wouldn't have a problem with our other old "pal" either.

Yes, I am sorry. I used racist when I meant bigot though in Europe hatred of Muslims is more 'racist' rather than say being against the way Muslims behave and that goes for hating secular and assimilated Muslims in European society.

No need to apologize
